Overview
To start we had a lot of training, then we were involved in a lot of individual calculations. We also got involved with a project with Project and Data Solutions where we spent a day each week data mining
Skills
The skills I've developed most while here is organisation and communication, I also gained a lot of technical knowledge about valuing pensions
Responsibilities
I got to do a lot of different jobs that were important and actual client work but given the nature of the job everything I done was checked so it didn't feel like I had too much responsibility. Every piece of work is checked by at least one other person - this wasn't just because I was an intern.
Support & Guidance
Loads! People couldn't be more helpful, any questions I had I could ask anyone in the office for help and they wouldn't mind spending their time helping me
Culture
Super friendly and fairly relaxed but its important any work is done to a high standard
Your Impressions
From the first day I really enjoyed it, mainly due to how nice everyone was in the office, it was a really nice place to work
Yes
For applying make sure you know the company values and try to research the line of business that you are applying to. If you are successful then I'd make the effort to go into the office as much as possible, even if you have the option to work from home, you'll get to talk to many more people and find out more about the company and the work
