Overview
Worked on many different projects over the course of the internship, these included analysing worker productivity over time, internal forecasting and business model analysis. Day-to-day this involved a lot of data work (some cleaning, mostly analysis) and the delivery of presentations to key stakeholders. Also involved in several learning modules over the course of the internship.
Skills
Become more competent handling and deriving insights from large data sets. Completed courses on data fluency, business model analytics and several training sessions around the FCAs internal data tools. Developed presentation skills and became better able to manage expectations to avoid overcommitting with deadlines.
Responsibilities
I was given a large amount of freedom to pursue the direction I thought best in my projects (with weekly meetings with managers to guide my progress). Most projects involved an element of creativity with which I was given total freedom and ended up with insightful and somewhat novel results.
Support & Guidance
Everyone was very approachable and very happy to offer guidance, my Line Manager was great and was more than happy to put me in touch with people from other departments. We were assigned buddies on the graduate scheme to meet with every week and give general advice.
Culture
Very relaxed, people were more than happy to chat and meet about anything, as long as I met my deliverables I had total freedom to do what I wanted and to meet with whomever I wanted
Your Impressions
It was a great insight into the business within a very relaxed environment, I would certainly recommend to others
