Overview
Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders, taking minutes, organising project timeline, preparing slide decks, conducting background research on the industry and/or company.
Skills
Both - on a technical side, I was able to apply my existing software/programming knowledge to new scenarios, as well as dabble in brand new programmes. I developed a comprehensive, transferable soft skill set, comprising of efficient teamwork, communication, organisation and time-management.
Responsibilities
Yes - my contribution to the team was highly valued and I was given many tasks to complete in my own time, under my own organisation and planning.
Support & Guidance
I received excellent support from my 'buddy', career coach, project team and student recruitment team. My buddy in particular ensured we had regular check-ins and would actively seek out things for me to be working on. I was made well aware that support was always available should I need it.
Culture
The office atmosphere was very relaxed and I was made to feel comfortable and welcomed at all times. All members of the company were friendly and willing to have informal chats should I request it. Dress code was relatively informal, I was able to manage my day myself and take full independence.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at PwC - mostly for its inclusive and positive work culture. It exceeded my expectations in terms of how comfortable I felt, how welcoming the team was, and how flexible the timing was (in terms of hybrid working, etc.) I would definitely come back to PwC as it is a company whose values truly align with my own, and they put so much emphasis on personal growth & development.
Yes
For the AC, treat it as a day in the life of working at PwC, as opposed to some sort of 'test'. Be unique and truly yourself as PwC values a diverse range of mindsets. On day 1, don't stress! Focus most on meeting the other interns. What inspired me to join was PwC's amazing professional reputation across all lines of service, and the work culture definitely lives up to this reputation.
