Overview
I work with 2 separate teams for 2 weeks per month. I do the month end reporting, raising journals, etc with the accounts team and financial reporting with the global finance team after the month end.
Skills
I have learnt so many useful accountancy and excel skills. I have also developed soft skills.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given ownership of my own cost centres and journals and had a lot of responsibility.
Support & Guidance
Both my line managers were amazing. They are very smart and capable people willing to impart their substantial knowledge in a friendly manner. All questions were welcome and they never made me feel stupid. They pushed me to do more, get more responsibility.
Culture
They are very friendly and social. The HRs would organize social events for all the interns to get to know each other. The company culture is to work hard when needed and relax when not.
Your Impressions
I am enjoying it very much. The people are warm, friendly and welcoming. They want you to learn and grow as much as you can. My line managers acts like they have an actual responsibility to teach me. I never feel too pressured and feel like I can talk to them about anything.
Yes
They hire very few interns so don't be disappointed if they don't hire you. If they do hire you, congratulations, you are one of the chose 10 interns handpicked by them. You'll be interviewed directly by your line manager so be as friendly and enthusiastic as you can. Ask loads of questions and be well prepared with everything that you learned in Uni.
