Overview
Work within actuarial and investment consulting. Involves a lot of training, meetings and client work such as preparing implementation statements, investment monitoring and calculating transfer values as well as the opportunity to work on long-term projects throughout the duration of the internship.
Skills
Developed my Excel skills and gained a lot of new knowledge on investment as well as the relationship between different players in the industry (consultants, investment managers, trustees, etc.)
Responsibilities
A lot of responsibility is given to you during your internship but care is also taken to keep work at a manageable level as you learn.
Support & Guidance
A lot of support given through training but also everyone is very willing to help you whenever you need as you are working on something.
Culture
The company culture and general atmosphere both at work and at socials is very friendly and everyone is really nice and helpful.
Your Impressions
Very enjoyable as you are given a lot of responsibility and learning so much about investment and actuarial consulting work is really interesting. Learning curve is steep and this keeps you motivated/engaged and doing many different pieces of work.
