Overview
My role is to test new features and bug fixes implemented to ensure that they work as intended. Every morning, I attend my team's scrum meeting where we discuss what work we've achieved and what we still plan to do for the day. Then, I interact with developers throughout the day on features or bug fixes.
Skills
I have developed my communication skills immensely. Being about to use agile methodology in my work has definitely been a huge insight into how work can be carried out efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was one of two QA engineers on my team and so on our given issue, we would have the last say on if a feature or bug fix works as intended, and then it would get merged into develop. Additionally, I was given the responsibility to work on the automated tests which were carried out daily.
Support & Guidance
At the beginning of my placement, there was a handover period between the old intern and the new intern. This was helpful to gain their knowledge before they left the company. My daily scrums are a good place for help and support and also I received guidance from my senior QA test engineer.
Culture
We mainly worked from home but I've had a few dinners with colleagues. They're very welcoming and nice.
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed how much I've learned and visibly grown over this last year.
