Overview
3 Day Induction in the first week including 1 in person day at a hub location to collect IT equipment. Then 3 weeks in the office as part of a team shadowing projects and participating where possible. During my scheme I had the opportunity to contribute towards writing a report. In person celebration event at hub location on penultimate day with other students on the scheme.
Skills
Developed my excel skills and gained skills in technical report writing. Also a great opportunity to network with the team at KPMG and there are opportunities to meet people outside of your chosen capability.
Business Insight
Good opportunity to understand what people do in transaction services/deal advisory. Opportunity to network with people who worked/have worked in other capabilities as well. Be aware that the opportunity to get a graduate offer at the end of the scheme is linked directly to the location/capability of the chosen scheme.
Culture
Very relaxed and friendly culture. Everyone is happy to answer questions and chat about careers whether they are a graduate or a partner. Office in Reading is fairly new and comfortable. As the TS team is relatively small there is a culture of sitting together at lunch.
Your Impressions
Very enjoyable program with plenty of opportunities to get involved and meet people.
Yes
Compared to many other recruitment processes, the process is fairly fast and you are kept up to date with where your application is at. Be aware that if you are looking for a graduate offer, these will only be offered for the same location/capability as your vacation scheme.
