Overview
Daily team briefing, followed by working on projects and meetings. Each day was different, some days were more shadowing colleagues in meetings, others were more independent and I was left to complete my own tasks.
Skills
Developed communication and teamwork skills. Learnt how to network in a professional environment.
Responsibilities
I was given freedom to contribute ideas to projects. I did feel like my ideas were valued and incorporated. I was made to feel like a member of the team and not just an intern in terms of responsibility.
Support & Guidance
Daily briefing with my manager as well as regular check ins. I also had a buddy who was available for support on anything. Many members of the team also offered support and guidance on tasks.
Culture
Great culture, encouraging wellbeing by taking calls while out on a walk and a policy to encourage no work after 5pm. Regular social events were organised for the interns. Two volunteering days per year, during the internship we had to do a fundraising project.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed developing my professional skills and would feel much more confident to join a corporate role going forward. In my opinion, a great company to do an internship for
Yes
Be yourself in the interviews and take your time answering questions to ensure you cover everything you need to. When you start try to get involved with as many things as you can and don't be afraid to ask questions.
