Overview
Rotations in both Sales and Trading , learning considerable amounts about different clients, market movements, bond pricing and market making
Skills
I have developed my understanding of financial markets in general and within credit specifically, you learn both the micro and macro fundamentals which can affect different markets, sectors and underlying individual bonds
Responsibilities
I was given considerable amounts of responsibility and feel that I actually made a difference to the team which is rare for a Summer intern. Given the team is small and the intake is small you can be really valued.
Support & Guidance
Lots. HR was consistently there to answer any queries, but also my line manager caught up with me regularly to discuss constantly moving goals and objectives, as well as career development and positioning for the future.
Culture
Company Culture was unlike anywhere else. Being in an Investment bank you assume/think the culture will be challenging and egotistical, however, it was encouraging and friendly and allowed me to be myself and flourish.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly
Yes
Do it. the experience and responsibility you get is unlike anywhere else.
