Overview
My role was to support the trade marketing managers with the day to day marketing activity and management of their retail accounts. I was a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and provided them with relevant information/image assets/market overviews as well as POS and promotional merchandise ordering.
Skills
Improved my knowledge of MS Office after receiving training for Excel and got experience working in a large, global company.
Responsibilities
As a support role in the team, I wasn't always given the opportunity to own my own projects and mostly did smaller, administration based tasks. I think being mostly remote was a main factor in not having ownership over tasks as when we started to come back to the office more, I feel I was exposed to more and was able to get involved in other projects.
Support & Guidance
When joining the business remotely, I didn't feel like I was supported much when trying to understand the ins and outs of the business. BSH is a complicated company to get to grips with when you first join and it took me some time to understand the processes and ways of working here.
Culture
Company culture is friendly but corporate, people are happy to help which is good as a new starter but there is definitely processes in place that don't change.
Your Impressions
I appreciated the opportunity to come to a large corporation as a humanities graduate, I enjoyed some aspects of my internship and learnt a lot. I didn't enjoy the lack of integration into the business as a remote worker when I first joined, it was hard to introduce myself to others when not in the office.
Yes
It is a great place to get your foot in the door and be exposed to so many large brands. I think the company is best suited to those just starting out or those at senior management/director level as there isn't much room for career progression post internship/grad scheme.
