    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role was so exciting! it would vary and change on a day to day basis by being able to get involved in a variety of projects whilst also having my always on job tasks which i had to complete. • Manage the creation, deployment and analysis of monthly customer email ‘The Edit’. Support the Social Media Manager with the development of regular social media campaigns. Assist the Events and Partnerships Manager with the management of our ambassador programme and support events, as required. Manage the finance process for the overall budget, including raising of purchase orders and end of month routines

  • I have learnt so so many new skills - it has been a year of both personal and professional development. I have been able to develop my organization, confidence, problem solving, decision making, team work and interpersonal skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I wasn't expecting to get as much responsibility as i did during my placement. I was able to solely own projects running everything from start to end. I also was trusted with briefing in agencies and being a sole point of contact. Obviously my team were there every step of the way if i needed anything but fully allowed me to decision make.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received alot of support throughout my placement. I had weekly 1-2-1 sessions with my manager which allowed us to dissect any non-urgent problems which cropped up. However it was very known that if there were any other issues to bring them up as soon as i needed help.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • From never experiencing an office atmosphere to coming to work for MINI i loved every part of it. We had multiple team days and when we were all in the office would have team lunches. The office was super light hearted with lots of friendly chatter and music throughout. Everyone made you feel super welcome and made an effort to get to know you.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • i loved every aspect of my placement! I made great connections and friends which i will carry with me throughout my final year of university and hopefully my future professional career. It above and beyond exceeded my expectations for my placement and i would love to go back in the future.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK
  • The interview process can feel super daunting but everyone along the way is so helpful and wanting you to succeed. I highly recommend reaching out to HR for feedback as BMW group is so big there might be other roles you could suit not just the one you firstly applied for.
