Overview
Tasked with process improvement, involved networking with various internal stakeholders to first understand the business and develop solutions for process improvement and efficiencies.
Skills
Improved networking abilities. Gained knowledge of the payments industry and 4-party model. General Financial Knowledge. Gained soft skills through training programs internally.
Responsibilities
Given a lot of scope to carry out my assigned project independently, with weekly check-ins with my manager. The task aligned with VISA's real business and process improvement objectives.
Support & Guidance
The Next Gen Team who oversee early career were very friendly and welcoming. They organized multiple training and networking events both online and in-person. My Team were also very welcoming and supportive throughout the internship.
Culture
Very open and friendly work culture. Everyone I met was happy to help and give up their time to provide mentorship and help. Large emphasis on employee well-being from the company as a whole and Senior Directors made time to meet the interns on multiple occasions in person and made themselves very accessible and would be working alongside every other employee in an open-plan office environment.

Really enjoyed the internship and would definitely recommend the experience to others.
Yes
The application process is very long so patience is very important. They also take applicants from a variety of Universities and degrees, although there seemed to be a strong STEM preference based on the degrees of other interns. Having said that, there were also some interns studying social science degrees as well.
