Overview
My regular tasks revolved heavily around pricing for the most part, however on adhoc basis I would perform key analysis on topics to assist the sales team. I would interact daily both with the customer and the team in conjunction with our European plants to ensure operations are smooth and our account is efficient.
Skills
My Microsoft excel skills have greatly improved alongside other software familiarity. In terms of my personal skills I have found that my teamworking ability has dramatically improved. This is mainly due to my work with my European counterparts and through this learning how to adapt to other working cultures effectively.
Responsibilities
I was given a key role almost immediately when i started at Forvia due to one of the sales team leaving shortly after I joined. Their responsibility lied within pricing and I had to be sharp adapting to the role as it was crucial to the CBU's performance moving forwards.
Support & Guidance
I was helped thoroughly during my placement both by my collogues within the CBU and the content in our learning lab web page. Whenever I needed guidance and support, I knew I could find it in those around me, I found the placement was very good helping new/young collogues.
Culture
The company culture is one that is driven by success and improvement which enticed me a lot. I enjoyed that the company allowed us to do a lot with charity however, my only negative was there wasn't any company arranged student social events to meet the UK wide student base during my time here.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement at Forvia and would highly recommend my role to others who want a in-depth and challenging placement to help them at University and their career moving forwards. I found it fully met my expectations and I would be thrilled to return.
Yes
Apply yourself into the role and show those around you that you are keen and they will return the favor in support and guidance. Absorb as much information as possible in the first 3 months before making any judgement as it can be daunting at first.
