Overview
Help implement and maintain standardised work principles and production processes. Assist the launch of new business in the plant. Maintain bill of materials and timings.
Skills
Big improvement in my interpersonal skills such as communication and planning. I also gained knowledge of production systems and weld theory.
Responsibilities
Once I had been exposed to one of the projects for several months, I was given increased responsibilities and autonomy on some of the related activities.
Support & Guidance
My manager made himself available and organised regular reviews to keep track of my progress and had an open door policy which meant I could go to him with concerns or problems at any time.
Culture
During my time at Forvia I participated in multiple company organised events such as Forvia day. I also took part in activities with colleagues outside of work such as a hike in the peak district.
Your Impressions
Working at Forvia for the past 12 months has been an invaluable experience and I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity. The knowledge I have gained, and personal development makes it clear why previous students speak so highly of the placement program.
Yes
I would recommend looking into the company values before applying and talking to previous students to understand if the placement is right for you.
