Overview
Each day offers something new due to the project nature of our work. This results in an often fast paced, dynamic environment to work in. A typical feasibility project will start with market research, leading to data collection and finally analysis. Projects can take 3 days to 2 weeks to complete and with projects across markets, you wont get bored.
Skills
My excel skills have definitely been developed and led to my own model building. Furthermore, my corporate presentation skills have definitely been overhauled. The team were very helpful and encouraging in developing skills.
Responsibilities
Yes, after my initial training was completed I was given my own feasibility study and throughout the year, the guidance on the projects was reduced so I became more independent. This helped me feel a sense of accomplishment after finishing my work. Developing a good relationship with the team allowed them to put more trust in my responsibilities.
Support & Guidance
My manager was very proactive in giving support and guidance. They'd regularly check in with me and constantly push me to keep learning and develop my skills.
Culture
The company culture was great. Weekly drinks after work, 5-a-side football, Quarterly events. For such a big company, a great job was done in creating a social environment and I had the chance to join the social committee.
Your Impressions
This was the best thing I could have done. The combination of a great team, dynamic work environment and a social office made the year very enjoyable. I couldn't have made any suggestions for improvement.
Yes
I would advise showing a passion for hospitality. They understand you may not be the most knowledgeable but just show that you are keen and interested and you cant go wrong.
