Overview
Role comprised of assisting line manager with raw data formatting on excel, as well as deriving insight of the commercial week-on-week trends - sometimes some market analysis. Would attend meetings with management team on various agendas and KPIs to achieve on a weekly basis. Would shadow partnership meetings and pricing consultations for the company's services/products.
Skills
I have learnt basic excel skills, intermediate powerpoint skills, awareness of salesforce navigation. In terms of communicating in a workplace, my skills have developed greatly as I have realised a more efficient and relevant means by which to engage with colleagues.
Responsibilities
I established a reasonable amount of respect with my peers, which enabled me to be assigned tasks with various responsibilities. One example was filling in for manager when he was off and creating a WoW KPI report, as well as a company-wide presentation.
Support & Guidance
My manager was very laissez-faire. However, if I had any problems he would assist me very quickly. As for the internship organisers, they were thorough and very organised in detailing the outlines of the program/timetable etc.
Culture
Local Heroes was a most enjoyable workplace with a profoundly positive culture. Coffee offers, food shares, after-work drinks - all are examples of the type of culture in LH.
Your Impressions
Greatly enjoyed my time here. Met a lot of people and established professional networks across the company. However, teams meetings were sometimes incredibly dull. Also Workday was appalling to use.
