Overview
Completed ad-hoc data management tasks, mocked up charts for the Interims and contributed to processes by finding and entering data. Updated data packs by externally researching OFGEM and its competitors. Completed a H1 Consensus report by reading and analysing analyst notes, using excel. I also used a model to forecast future performance metrics (both operational and financial). Worked on ESG analysis by using the shareholder register (provided by the brokers) and looked at the frameworks.
Skills
Soft skills: communication, teamwork and time management. Learnt about the importance of eye for detail when producing accurate results. Hard skills: accounting processes, proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerBi and SAP.
Responsibilities
Yes, I had my own projects/tasks that were then checked by my manager. Also completed weekly KPI processes.
Support & Guidance
I was given a lot of guidance in the beginning and throughout. My manager was always available for support and showed a lot of patience.
Culture
Amazing supportive culture. Lots of senior individuals were willing to give their time for 1-1 talks, which means a lot as an intern. Friendly environment especially given the size of the business.

To a large extent I enjoyed it. The variety of the role was interesting and it exceeded my expectations.
