Overview
Read market news daily and send-out team wide markets overviews each day. Researching of presentation topic. Other research tasks set by my team in relation to specific clients. Talk to as many people as possible to learn as much as you can in the limited time available.
Skills
Learnt to become very good on excel. Learnt some python from other interns. Learnt how to use bloomberg terminal.
Responsibilities
Very little. Legally as interns you are not allowed to execute any deals or speak to any clients. I dealt with doing research and sending it to the team daily under the supervision of my buddy.
Support & Guidance
In my first rotation very little from my own team. In my second rotation, lots of support from my team.
Culture
Excellent. People are very nice and willing to help and give up their time.
Your Impressions
After first 4 weeks not too much but last 4 weeks loads.
Yes
Be honest, be transparent, don't pretend to be more qualified than you are. Show interest, eagerness and willingness to learn. Be direct with the hiring manager about your interest in their teams early.
