Overview
Dealing with customers on a day to day basis, renting cars through insurance, breakdown, body shop or other. Dealing with tourists through retail deals. Calling the customers to make sure they understand the requirements that have to be met to rent the car and asking them which car they want or need. Replying to emails from colleagues and other garages and organising and managing the day as a team
Skills
Managerial skills have improved immensely seeing the managers, assistant managers and area managers running the day really opens your eyes to a busy business being run. Communication skills from dealing with so many different customers have also improved. My working as a team skills have improved as in Finglas there is a tight bit of employees who all benefit from each other carrying out there job to the best of there abilities.
Responsibilities
At the beginning of the internship your not given as much responsibility but as you go on you are trusted with more and more everyday. Towards the end of my internship I was helping the management run the day and taking over when they went on lunch.
Support & Guidance
From the management and superior staff they were very helpful throughout. For my college we had to write out the daily tasks we completed so that our lecturer was always aware what was going on and how we were getting on. The HR department always emailed and support was always available upon asking.
Culture
Enterprise has a young vibrant atmosphere, with all the staff looking to progress and make a difference through good customer service and maintaining the existing customers. A very satisfying place to work through great benefits like staff lunches once, twice or even three times a month, to staff nights out to reward the hard work and long hours.
Your Impressions
Absolutely loved every minute of it as cars is a big passion of mine so it makes it all the more enjoyable for myself, business and customer sales is also another big thing which I have enjoyment and passion for in meeting new people and interacting with other businesses. I would recommend this internship to anyone who has the will to learn and enjoys business.
Yes
Be yourself if you get to the interview stage, sell yourself on what you are good at and enjoy the process. Everybody who is interviewing you has been where you have so take that into consideration.
