Overview
Intern in Debt Capital Markets. Every day would be slightly different but generally working on pricing, weekly updates and any other tasks that the team might need. MUFG also encourages you to spend time speaking to people across the bank during the internship. Also worked on a group project for the first half of the internship
Skills
Using Bloomberg Pricing bonds/loans Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint and excel
Responsibilities
All the work I did was real work that would be sent to the client. The people on my team were very supportive with this and would always give me something relevant to do.
Support & Guidance
Everyone from analyst to the most senior level was willing to help me - even for trivial things. It is a very supportive environment and I got the chance to speak to people across the bank. You can find support and guidance from most people if you seek it but even if you do not seek it out I found that people would go out of their way to offer me support
Culture
Very welcoming and collaborative. Flat structure where you can speak to anyone.
Your Impressions
I had a great experience on the internship - I felt very supported
Yes
MUFG is a large and complex global organisation which may not have the same structure or names for certain divisions - make sure to take time to understand how the bank is structured before interviewing
