Overview
As a business tax intern, the day-to-day consisted of completing various tasks, from submitting tax returns, contacting HMRC, emailing clients, calculating capital gains.
Skills
Developed communication skills and a general introductory understanding of the practice of tax accountancy
Responsibilities
A lot of the responsibilities I were given were low-level admin and compliance tasks as I didn't have the technical knowledge for some of the more important tasks
Support & Guidance
A lot of support and guidance. There were weekly talks on topics such as wellbeing and resilience, and my colleagues were very helpful and answered nay questions that I had.
Culture
Company culture was quite welcoming and relaxed.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement as it was a learning experience for me as I had no previous experience in accounting, an the workplace culture was very welcoming.
