Overview
Tasks connected with Facade Engineering Consulting, preparing presentations and design notes, developing drawings and models, conducting project related research, attending site visits
Skills
Developed skills: - technical understanding of Facade systems and engineering solutions - preparing deliverables in chosen softwares (AutoCAD, BISCO software, Grasshopper) - communicating ideas and effectively exchanging information - analyzing and making sense of data - conducting Embodied Carbon Assessment of facade systems - preparing presentations
Responsibilities
Yes- during my placement I was treated as a full member of the team and was assigned tasks comparable with those assigned to my graduate colleagues. I had a chance to prepare deliverables for clients, deliver a presentation to the team and run a interdisciplinary meeting
Support & Guidance
I have received a lot of support from my buddy, line manager as well as from my colleagues I was working on projects with. I felt free to ask questions and suggest extra meeting to receive support.
Culture
The company has an exceptionally good working culture and is very people-focused. Employee' s ideas and concerns are respected and actions upon feedback are taken. The general atmosphere is respectful, encouraging and enjoyable. There has been numerous social events and opportunities, both within the company as well from people within the industry.
