Overview
Performing and checking actuarial calculations and ensuring the product clients receive maintains a high standard .
Skills
Effective communication-there are always opportunities to communicate with a wide range of individuals on a daily basis so by attending the office regularly I was able to develop this skill. I also developed my Microsoft office skills due to frequent training on use of the applications. Leadership/Organisational skills- I was given many opportunities to develop these including organising a training event for senior professionals.
Responsibilities
I was treated as a colleague so I was given lots of responsibility after training so I was definitely able to get first hand experience of being an actuary.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of guidance and support was always available if and when needed-I felt very comfortable to ask further questions.
Culture
There is a very good company culture and atmosphere, interns are treated like colleagues and invited to various social events. Everyone is happy to stop and have a conversation with You about their role or to assist you with a task. It’s a lovely place to work.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed every day of my internship and look forward to the opportunity to go into the industry after completing my studies.
