Overview
My role as a broker intern involves assisting in monthly renewals of retrocession and reinsurance. This role is centered around communication, so involves a lot of meetings on a day to day basis but at a basic level also involves data tasks.
Skills
Learned new skills and develope exisitn gskills with Microsoft applications, learnt more technical knowledge regarding reinsurance, got to develop communication skills from being invited to meetings etc.
Responsibilities
Yes I was given a higher amount of responsibility than expected.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support from various colleagues including my manager who all offered helpful advice.
Culture
The company culture is good, revolves around team work. However, the team atmosphere can be tense and high pressured some times as the environment requires the team to be this way.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship and got to learn and develop a lot of important skills. I enjoyed it however I did grow to be tired by the end. But I learnt a lot.
