Overview
As a tax analyst I completed various tasks to help within the team. My days tended to differ due to this range of work. Calls to HMRC were common and I helped with other matters such as shadow payrolls and completing tax returns.
Skills
It is quite surprising how quickly you pick up a lot of technical knowledge within the sector. I also found that I was able to develop my professional communication skills, in person over the phone and by email.
Responsibilities
I was given free reign to try a lot of tasks with no pressure as more senior team members would check the work was correct.
Support & Guidance
The buddy system which was in place was very useful, having a first point of contact. The team was very welcoming and many people offered help if I needed it.
Culture
Friendly office environment, you could tell people were happy to be there

I enjoyed my time at Deloitte. It gave me a great feel for the professional world before I start my career
