Overview
I write tests for programs ranging from system to UI to unit tests. Completing Proof of Concept and Test Completion Reports once everything is completed in development. When needed I also do development work on both iOS and Android.
Skills
I have learnt so much about agile development, mobile development, testing in an industrial scale, communicating with product and design, best code practices for Kotlin and swift in mobile development. Also soft skills such as curiosity and perseverance when facing adversity.
Responsibilities
Being part of a team of interns to release a feature in a version, we are given maximum autonomy as well as responsibility for leading and completing the release.
Support & Guidance
Our mentors were always there to offer help and allow us to leverage their experience for the problems we faced. From planning to development to testing and to documenting, we always had someone to rely on in case we needed it.
Culture
The company culture, especially the tech side, is very friendly and casual. There is no sense of layers levels or people who have been here longer having more power or is looking down on you. It is very welcoming and pleasant office.
Your Impressions
I greatly enjoyed it, not only have I learnt a lot about the industry, but I have also developed as a person. Without any mobile development experience, I came in and can now comfortably say that I am prepared for a full-time job as a quality engineer.
Yes
Be curious, ask more questions throughout the application process and when you get here. It is as much a choice for you as it is for the company.
