Overview
Worked as a softwire development intern which involved a 2 week bootcamp followed by working on an intern project for 2 weeks. This meant coming in to work and programming most days, sometimes giving demos or interacting with clients etc. Also lots of fun work trips out and plenty of breaks!
Skills
I've learnt an absolutely insane amount, I've gone from knowing basic mathematical python to being able to comfortably write heavily involved c# to do with editing databases and web apps, and know how to set up a functioning webservice.
Responsibilities
We were often able to chat to clients ourselves and very much allowed to work how we wanted with regards to what we were writing and what development tickets we picked up. We also were allowed to be in charge of planning demos which felt really nice!
Support & Guidance
We had people in the office always ready to step in and help us, everyone was super friendly and it felt like there was no pressure when asking for help! We were allowed to be independent but also didn't feel bad if we got stuck
Culture
Incredibly friendly, everyone I worked with felt super nice and I was able to get to know everyone! The atmosphere was super calming and overall a lovely place to work.
Your Impressions
Probably one of the most fun things I've ever done! Really really loved it :)
Yes
its worth preparing for the interview a little bit, and dont be worried to ask for help
