Overview
My role involved rotating around 4 different departments: valuations, property management, ratings and development. Each day was different from one another but normally consisted of working on reports, conducting site visits and networking with employees throughout the business.
Skills
Throughout my time here at Savills I have developed a number of transferable skills. In property management for example, I learnt how to read a lease which is sure to come in useful when looking to find a place of my own. In ratings, I developed a basic understanding of business rates and learnt how a property is 'zoned' and measured up to provide the overall rating value.
Responsibilities
I was able to work on a number of interesting and high profile projects. All the projects were directly for clients and I felt the work I did was of help to the team I was working in.
Support & Guidance
Everyone was very helpful and patient with me. Ethan in development was particularly helpful. He had clearly planned out in advance what projects I would be working on and it made the week a very enjoyable experience.
Culture
Savills have created a family like atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and recognize their strength lies in the team and not the individual
Your Impressions
The internship was a very good experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in career in property.
