Overview
Reading leases and extracting information required to help streamline the management of the property and portfolio. Helping with rent and service charge collection. Organising inspections.
Skills
Helped develop my property law knowledge and ability to quickly and accurately extract key information from leases about rent, payment dates, reviews, break dates, and how to deal with oddities included in leases.
Responsibilities
Yes, from the first afternoon after the welcome meeting I was straight into work helping the team work through 300 new leases for an existing clients new portfolio. Once I learnt what to do I was off on my own and given the responsibility to work through as many as I could. They were always supportive and very quick to help if I had any questions
Support & Guidance
Huge amount of support from the team. Always happy to help and answer any questions about specific work I was doing or about the wider industry in general
Culture
Happy and friendly in your team but outside of that you don't really mix and people tend to keep to themselves
Your Impressions
I did enjoy my internship and would recommend the scheme to other students. I felt I was ready to leave the team after the month. Would have liked to experience more work in different teams - networking with grads and directors only gives so much of an insight.
Yes
Highly competitive and sought after place to work. They really test you and make you question whether you know what you're talking about. Research the company and market as much as possible, find what makes Savills stand out for YOU and little niche reasons why you want to work there - that'll make you stand out.
