Overview
Investment Banking Summer Analyst - day-to-day involves assisting senior members to prepare material relating to both the origination and execution of investment banking transactions. This involves creating and editing PowerPoint presentations, undertaking market/sector research, updating valuation models using Excel and participating in group meetings.

Absolutely! Regarding hard skills I have developed my skills in the following areas: - Accounting - Financial valuation - Data synthesis Also gained greater adeptness with: - Excel - Powerpoint - Market data packages (Factset, Refinitv) Equally, on the soft skill side, I have gained an increased ability to: - communicate clearly and concisely and - form meaningful connections. - work under pressure - meet deadlines
Responsibilities
Yes. All the individuals in the bank were very keen to grant us with significant autonomy. Provided I was willing and able to take on additional tasks where I had demonstrated my ability, there was never a time in which I was not encouraged to take on responsibility.
Support & Guidance
There was plenty of support throughout, both from the bank's HR department and from my immediate colleagues.
Culture
I was incredibly surprised by how welcoming and supportive the culture/atmosphere was at the bank. Everyone was willing to lend a helping hand wherever necessary, and people were always receptive to catching up throughout the internship.
Your Impressions
I genuinely thoroughly enjoyed my time at the bank. The internship struck a perfect balance between being sufficiently hard to provide a steep learning curve, whilst also providing ample opportunity to develop personally.
