Overview
Logging and tracking incoming POs. Reporting price changes internally and on SAP. Commercial support throughout RFQ/business aqusition process, leading certain aspects (e.g. tooling). Commercial lead and customer-contact on build-quotes (one-off orders).
Skills
Interpersonal skills, autonomy/independent thinking, excel proficiency, how to work in professional environment.
Responsibilities
Initially no, as the first months are learning-focussed and bringing you up to a level where responsibility can be gained. Then I was given responsibilty over a selection of projects (mainly small). I was then given responsibilty over larger parts of the acquisition process. I did however feel that I could have handled more responsibility.
Support & Guidance
Lots of support from my team within the office. Any questions would be answered and thoroughly explained by people with much higher levels of experience.
Culture
Office was quieter due to covid-restrictions and working-from-home, however when it is busy then the working atmosphere is lovely. Could be very quiet sometimes though. Company culture is very friendly and positive.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the placement a lot, overall. My team and the other students/graduate made the working experience enjoyable, while the learning opportunities and growth developed throughout the year made it a rewarding one.
Yes
Regarding those in CBU (not based in plant), I'd advise coming here with a positive and friendly attitude - to match the company culture. When here, be open-minded and keen to work on whatever gets thrown at you, as this will lead to more opportunities.
