Overview
I was involved in a range of retirement calculations. Work not only covered actuarial, but also consulting and admin work too.
Skills
Definitely, basic office working skills such as sending emails, drafting timesheets, speaking to senior colleagues, etc.
Responsibilities
To an extent. The team is ready to give guidance on anywhere you need confirmation. However, there are spells where there is not much to do and this probably would not be the case with more years of exprience.
Support & Guidance
A lot, everyone was incredibly welcoming and open.
Culture
Very big on diversity and inclusion and this is put in practice.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it. It helped me get a better insight into this career. However, I would say you don't get complete exposure because there is a lot you don't do as an intern. Also, you will most likely be busier and have more work to do if you actually had the job long-term.
Yes
Be yourself and don't force anything. If you are the right fit for Aon and if Aon is the right fit for you then you will get the job. If not, don't worry, it just wasn't meant to be and you still have a bright future ahead!
