Overview
Come in and start around 6:45am-7am and daily tasks include modelling on excel, writing reports, reading and researching company reports and the news, pitching stock to S&T, speaking to clients on the phone etc
Skills
Skills that have been developed include excel modelling, pitching abilities, time management, networking etc.
Responsibilities
Initially not given much responsibility but there is a quick learning curve in which vital business tasks are quickly given to you
Support & Guidance
Support and guidance is massively rotation dependent. I was fortunate to experience two rotations in which questions (no matter how silly) were warmly welcomed and encouraged. I was also taught well how to model and to write report style information.
Culture
The stand out feature of Jefferies is undoubtedly the culture, it is extremely flat, lean and friendly.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed my placement and it gave me the opportunity to find out more about divisions and see where I am a best fit for.
Yes
Be yourself and focus on personal reasons that Jefferies is a good fit for you.
