Overview
My role is with the process experience team which handles BPMN from teams all over the firm. I participate in daily standups and onboarding meetings. I created a dashboard for the team to track their progress on handling client requests.
Skills
Yes, this role is more like a business analyst using some programming languages. I have also gained soft skills like communication and networking skills. My business analytical skills have also improved from understanding different clients' requests.
Responsibilities
It's adequate amount, I do not have to participate in all of the daily tasks that the team has to do and my manager gives me quite a lot of autonomy in exploring and understanding the culture and the operation of the firm.
Support & Guidance
I would say a lot, I reach out to my manager and an analyst of my team if I come across a problem, if they couldn't solve it, we raise the question to the entire team before reaching to other relevant teams for help. My manager also scheduled weekly catchups to review my progress.
Culture
Very friendly, they encourage interns to do catchups with basically everyone in the firm. People are very nice to make time to interact with us and give us a lot of career advice and business insights. I also have good work life balance during the internship.
Your Impressions
Very much, except that I didn't get assigned to the team that I applied to and interviewed with and only got noticed 2 weeks before the internship. But the team that I interned with is very friendly and supportive.
Yes
Exhibit curiosity and willingness to learn during interviews and also get prepared.
