Overview
This really changed from rotation to rotation, but most of the time it involved replying to emails, building a client-employee relationship, especially with SMEs, networking within the company and working with other grads and senior stakeholders.
Skills
My ability to network and voice my opinions in calls has been greatly improved. Before I started I was nervous and apprehensive to put my point across but Atos have been great at supporting this learning curve.
Responsibilities
Yes, although I wasn't just thrown in the deep end, by the time I had found my feet within the company, I was given the responsibilities of hosting and helping to run events. I never felt overwhelmed or not supported, but I was pushed to my limits which helped me grow as a person.
Support & Guidance
At the beginning I didn't receive very much but that was a result of me not reaching out and asking for support. Once I had found my feet and found a group of other graduates that I could trust, finding support and like minded people who could help, even within personal development, was very easy.
Culture
The GIA community is a great place to meet new grads and make new friends. There are lots of socials planned and it's a great place to network, especially after losing out due to covid during my last two years at university.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement. I was due to go back to university to finish my integrated masters and instead chose to stay on at Atos and undertake the graduate scheme.
Yes
Absolutely you should apply. The people are welcoming, and the line managers are encouraging and supportive. You are challenged to step outside your comfort zone and many of the line managers want you to get the most out of your placement.
