Overview
I was involved with the feasibility checks of 66 kV and 132 kV. This mainly involved studying about the case of when we would need to move to 132 kV cables from the current industry standard cable - 66 kV. Furthermore, I was involved with designing the most optimized array cable configuration for the Morven wind farm.
Skills
I learnt the basics of designing of a wind farm and checking the optimized design for a given wind farm. I also learnt a little about the commercial impacts Wind energy has on the energy market. Also, I have got the basic understanding of designing, commissioning and operating a wind farm.
Responsibilities
The responsibility was just right and was manageable but challenging enough to keep my brain working.
Support & Guidance
My manager and other senior engineers helped me a lot throughout the internship without any hesitation.
Culture
It is actually a work environment you don't just work within your scope of work. You would be working with people from different disciplines, contractors and consultants.
Your Impressions
I did meaningful, exciting and impactful work throughout my internship which made me enjoy it so much. I would rate my internship experience 9.5 on a scale of 10.
