Overview
Working within the Infrastructure department to help deliver new projects for national companies. This included arranging site access, attending site meetings and carrying out records of condition.
Skills
I have learnt a large amount of new skills as well as developing my existing ones. these include independent and team working, self confidence and belief in my own ability, work management & time management.
Responsibilities
Yes I was given a nice amount of responsibility, but also made to feel confident in asking for help as and when I required it. these including carrying out solo records of condition and writing up compensation claims for effected land during GI work.
Support & Guidance
I had access to all the support I needed each day and never felt I couldn't ask for help when I required it. I worked closely with another graduate surveyor on the main work I was doing, so I could always ask questions and ensure I was always kept busy.
Culture
very much like a family atmosphere through the whole office and through each level. Social events out side working hours happened on a weekly basis, from after work drinks to a round or golf or cricket match.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed my 12 week Summer placement. Cant rate the careers team enough for all their work they put in, to ensure you are felt at ease from the very moment you submit your application.
Yes
Take every opportunity you get offered, ask lots of questions while your at it and you'll not regret anything.
