Vacation scheme student Review

Sat in two different seats (1 seat area per week). Did not choose the seat, was allocated and we were informed at the beginning of the week. Worked with a buddy and a supervisor who would give me case work that is involved at trainee level at the firm to get a feel for the type of the work that Dentons specialise in.

I learnt what's involved in day to day corporate and real estate transactions. Networking was a very important part of the two weeks, so really learnt to go out of my way and speak to as many people as possible.

It was very challenging but interesting. You really learn what different skills are required and what each person at the firm brings to the role. You also learn how the business differentiate themselves from other law firms (eg. Innovation) and how lasting client relationships are intergeal.

Very supportive. Everyone is willing to speak to you and answer your questions.

Very much so. However, it is also mentally exhausting. You need to push yourself to get as much out of the vacation scheme as possible and it's always good to try to engage in interesting and insightful conversations which made it even more enjoyable.

Be ready to challenge yourself. You are working with a dynamic team of individuals who are ready to respond to any question that you may have, so be prepared to ask and also answer questions about yourself. The application process is quite long so definitely understand why you would want to work at Dentons and definitely show why you'd be an attribute to them on the flip side.
