Overview
Using methods like MD and FEP to help guide and prioritize the selection of compounds to synthesize. Building up SAR knowledge using computational tools. Early stage and late stage discovery work.
Skills
A lot. Molecular Dynamics, Linux/Bash, FEP, Schrodinger Suite, MOE, PyMOL, Python (Standard libraries + RDKit + MDAnalysis), Metadynamics (PLMED).
Responsibilities
A lot of responsibilty as early as 1 month in. Work completed had impact on big projects and was considered based on merit and scientific rigor. Responsibilities increased appropriately with skill level.
Support & Guidance
My supervisor was fantastic, and my team was really helpful. It is also to some extent what you make of it. There are loads of extra 'seminars' and 'lectures', and you are of course free to collaborate with other employees and team members. Very smart people and generally very organized company, so there is always someone to ask or docs to be read.
Culture
Very good. Science-focused and very interesting work.
Your Impressions

Yes
