Overview
Daily Scrum calls, understanding data sourcing on existing platform, relevant financial terms and instruments and researching for data sourcing using the new platform
Skills
Yes, git development, learnt a new language - Perl, learnt to write unit tests, improved my skills at creating documentation and became more confident in my abilities.
Responsibilities
Yes I was given research tasks that would be useful for the team later this year , I was given ownership of my tasks
Support & Guidance
I was given guidance both by buddies/mentors and also by people in the wider team who were not direct stakeholders but had been interns once, I also received guidance from Managing Directors/Executive Directors who took time of their schedule and gave great advice. I also had teammates who helped me find the right material and sources which saved me a lot of time and helped me do the job well
Culture
I enjoyed the working environment and paying-it-forward culture of my office, people were ready to help each other and grow together as an organisation instead of competitiveness
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the work and learning opportunity, there was never a day when I woke up and didn't want to go in to work, it was very gratifying every day and I enjoyed the networking opportunities as well
