Overview
Developing ground stratum. Conducting desk studies and reviews with gap analysis. Partaking in site visits and research within the team. Presenting findings on certain case studies to higher counsel in the organisation.
Skills
Working in a team. Public Speaking. Critical thinking. Data analytics.
Responsibilities
Yes I was given responsibility. The tasks I had were always checked up by higher counsel in the organisation but my hands were always full in terms of projects.
Support & Guidance
There was always someone I could reach out to if I was stuck, confused, needed help or just general advice. Support groups in the company were very efficient.
Culture
Company had great culture in general and made the extra effort to make events where people could socialise and form relationships outside of the usual work lifestyle. The general atmosphere was nice and relaxed.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it a lot. As a first year undergraduate at the time it was the first time I got experience in a work environment. Furthermore, I was elated with how things were. Everyday was interesting definitely.
Yes
Go there with an open mind and prepare to be pushed outside your comfort zone because at the end of the day, the team at Mott MacDonald's wants you to get something out of your internship or placement. You're not alone and there will always be support available to you if needed.
