Responsibilities
At the start of my placement I was getting a lot of guidance and training but my responsibility increased throughout the year where I was acting as the project manager when the project manager was away or absent. I was also responsible for delivering aspects of projects to the client from the start to finish.
Support & Guidance
At the start of my placement I was getting a lot of support and guidance through company training and verbally from the project managers on the projects I was working on. However, after the first month or two I would say that I fully settled and was gaining confidence and so I wouldn't need as much support/guidance but I always knew that I could get support/guidance by asking someone in the team.
Culture
From my first day the team were very welcoming and made me feel that I was a part of the team. Everyone in the office were very friendly and easy to talk to.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my time working within the Bridges and Civil Structures team in Cardiff. Not only working on a variety of different projects with different people but also the social side outside of working hours.
Yes
Firstly, when completing the psychometric tests ensure that you're answering the questions honestly so that if you pass you'll know that your values are in line with what Mott MacDonald want. Motts have a variety of sectors to choose from and so I would highly recommend to research into all of them so you can find the right fit for you.
