Overview
Screening and matching candidates to the roles which they are suitable for. This was done via job adverts I posted or cold calling candidates searching for roles on job boards. I would also prep my candidates for interviews in great depth and have daily communication with my employers about jobs they need assistance on whilst providing market update's to the client.
Skills
My communication skills have increased enormously through speaking to people every single day in a friendly manner. Networking, punctuality, and eye for detail have also developed by speaking to people in positions of great authority via in person conversation and regular emails.
Responsibilities
I was given a large amount of responsibility as I was given the role of managing the temp desk with a major client. The responsibility was given to me by my manger as a result of hard work with that client which I can only be grateful for. This exposure was fantastic as I got to represent my company and feel in a position of real importance
Support & Guidance
My manager was absolutely amazing throughout. He was always there to offer any assistance whether it be the smallest thing or the most important part of my job, he always helped and never judged. Added, my senior was great too and offered help at all times
Culture
A real hunger to succeed. The ethos I took away from Randstad was work hard, play hard. I made real friends whilst working there and we had a lot of fun but we always knew when to work hard and hit our targets.
Your Impressions
I absolutely loved it and would reccomend it to anyone who was thinking about doing one. I learnt so many skills that have made me a better person. Added the insight into the real world is vital for someone at a young age.
Yes
Be yourself in the interview. Don’t be a robot. They managers want to see personality and a hunger to succeed. Our jobs are mostly based on the phone so if you come across well via the phone interview, you will succeed as a recruiter!
