Overview
Set hourly time which I like 8am to 4pm. Day to day, I will work on one company whether it’s a week or a month. Review the company, see what they say their issues are. Fun though the data logistics of their company and analyse any faults which bring their company down from succession.
Skills
I learned the basis of how to advise executives during meetings or conferences and develop media campaigns. Also this helped me see the framework between inside and outside relations and how to negotiate with partners to come to a solution that will benefit both parties.
Responsibilities
Although I shadowed a consultant it was very much like working alongside them. I had done many responsibilities they were also responsible for. I analyse strategic methods which can build business development, I spoke to client one on one. Reach out to other connects. It was as if I completely worked there.
Support & Guidance
At the beginning of the internship I received a lot of support, everything was run down to me. Even the things I had already known was taught to me quickly, just so I can get a rough overview. But during the placement, not much support. There was a lot of independence and me finding my own way. But also the partners were there if I needed them.
Culture
It was very fast paced. Everyone had their own projects and day to day work like even though we were all in one company. However, everyone knows each other, everyone was friendly. There was a very safe atmosphere where you could ask for support from any colleague who was more experienced in a certain field
Your Impressions
Very much. It felt like I worked there, which was a lot at times. So I got a taste of the real world. It’s intense. So it gave me a clearer picture of what working in a firm like that means.
Yes
Be prepared to work. But don’t be afraid, it could seem very intimidating but it’s very exciting. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. And if you have any ideas or suggestions, get it out there. The worst that could happens is they say no. But that’s not so bad. Take a risk!
