The Role
I have loved every minute of my placement and it's given me a postive attitude and approach to completing my degree
Working in such a business central department meant I got to know a lot of people in the company, particularly the new starters as I helped with the induction process
My manager was always ready and willing to offer support with all the tasks I was given. I knew I could ask her anything and get a direct and concise response. Over the course of the year I began to think about my dissertation topic, and my manager was fully supportive with offering ideas and help
Shortly after joining the company they went through a complete re-brand, so I was immediately immersed in key activities. Throughout the year I took ownership of tasks so was always working on an exciting marketing activity !
I was given responsibility for a number of key tasks
Everything I have learnt will benefit my massively in my last year of University, from time management to approaches to work my outlook has changed completely over the year
The Company
Focused during business but everyone is still chatty and conversational
We were the first intake of placement students so we've the opportunity over the year to develop the program for the future
Invited to attend numerous 'lunchtime learning' sessions, which various departments ran on a regular basis. These included introductions to the gas and power industry, as well as culture and language sessions.
