Overview
Worked with several teams throughout business completing analysis. For example, CRM teams that required analysis on sale announcement emails. Worked with team of analysts on larger deep dive projects, with regular team meetings. Completed more regular ad-hoc analysis, such as monthly reports.
Skills
Learnt lots of skills, ranging from soft skills such as communication, or understanding how businesses operate on a day to day basis, and more technical skills such as Alteryx, Tableau and SQL
Responsibilities
Interns at Gymshark are always given responsibility and treated like any other employee. You don't feel like an intern, and they work hard to involve you and ensure you experience as much as possible
Support & Guidance
There was a lot of support, mainly due to how kind and helpful everyone in the team was. Weekly one to ones with your manager provided opportunities for constant support. If I needed more support and guidance I knew where to go to get this.
Culture
The culture was great, particularly from an intern perspective. Appropriate working hours, social events with teams, and the amazing people in my team definitely contributed to this. I can see how higher up in the organisation culture and atmosphere were less positive, for example who makes the decisions, and if this really comes from those that are experts in their field rather than those with the power and influence.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement, I look back at my year as a really happy year, where I met great people, learnt a lot and came out with a much clearer understanding of where I want to take my career. Gymshark also had some very cool features, such as the GymsharkHQ/IQ office space, the opportunity to work with athletes, the Lifting Club and sample sales which added to the enjoyment!
Yes
Be yourself, Gymshark want to see personality, character, and a passion for the role and organisation. Make sure your values align with Gymshark, and demonstrate this in the interview, whilst demonstrating a passion for the role.
