Overview
I worked with rapid response maintenance team. My days mostly revolved around observing and advising on repair and development jobs
Skills
I have deepened my first hand knowledge of the processes involved in maintaining and installing new hardware on a continuously working system.
Responsibilities
Not a massive amount since the jobs I was working on had quite a high level of risk and required quite a lot of technical knowledge
Support & Guidance
Unfortunately I did not have regular contact with my mentor however I was always able to find someone to answer questions when I had them
Culture
It was exactly what I expected from the heavy end of a steel mill. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing is up for you to decide
Your Impressions
I enjoyed being able to have a change of pace from my academic studies, being able to see what its like for the people working on and with the machines we design was very useful
