Overview
Real life office experience where you are involved in current tasks such as internal audit planning meetings, going on site to meet clients and performing audit tasks using audit software.
Skills
Yes, I learnt and developed many audit and general accounting skills as well as networking experience. Gave me more confidence overall in workplace endeavours
Responsibilities
Yes I was given specific audit sections in a large audit which was sent to the clients. I was involved in internal planning meetings with directors and partners and met clients in person on site
Support & Guidance
Some support. During a busy period so some other interns struggled for work. Personally I had plenty of guidance and help from coworkers
Culture
Very friendly and chatty. People were genuinely interested in me as a person and everyone got along. Partners directors were not hidden away and regularly talked to everyone and got involved in smaller tasks
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to working there after university
Yes
Be yourself and try not to focus on being appearing corporate as that's not the culture at GT. Be outgoing and open to learning
