Overview
The day involved an introduction to the IGNITE training contract - a training contract with Clifford Change which aims to hire individuals who are interested in getting involved in legal tech and Clifford Chance's better delivery team. The day included a series of lectures about IGNITE, legal tech in Clifford Chance and fin-tech. It also included a workshop on basic legal-tech skills, a Q&A panel with current IGNITE offer holders and graduates, and an opportunity to network with current trainees and graduate recruitment staff at the firm. Food and drinks were provided.
Skills
I learned about the IGNITE program and what to expect of the application process. I now understand how the program differs from a normal training contract and am better equipped to consider whether the IGNITE program is suitable for me. The event was also a good opportunity to have more personal conversations with staff and ask some more individual questions about working at the firm. Overall I would say that the event was a positive experience and that it gave me a lot of insight into the firm.
Business Insight
The activities throughout the day differed in terms of their contributions. Personally I found that the tasks which offered the best insight into the business and potential roles available were the introduction and the Q&A panel
Culture
I have been to several events at Clifford Chance this year and I have consistently found the atmosphere to be open, welcoming and inclusive. It has definitely made CC a top choice firm as far as I am concerned.
