Responsibilities
Across the three different departments I worked on, I was given ownership of individual responsibilities. This included ownership of a female bag range, creating the initial ideas and seeing it through into development. I also had ownership of organising the SS23 Product Catwalk with other interns and JPM's.
Support & Guidance
I had lots of support and guidance through all my managers. On each department across womenswear, menswear and accessories, I felt as though I could talk to each manager about anything. This led to me learning through asking lots of questions, building on my knowledge day by day.
Culture
I feel extremely lucky and proud to have been able to work at Gymshark. The company culture is family focused and I always felt well looked after. The brand encourages 'tea breaks' in order for you to network and meet new people. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. There were lots of social events held such as Summer Party, Intern events and much more. The company culture was something I thoroughly enjoyed about my job.
Your Impressions
I loved my placement. My team gave me space and the resources to learn and grow and I'm very grateful for this. I would recommend a Gymshark placement to anyone. The amount you learn about your own department, as well as all other departments really opens your eyes to other possibilities, meaning your always learning.
Yes
Be yourself. It's so important to be yourself within an interview and let your passion for the brand and the role shine through. Don't be afraid to ask questions. This is how I learn so I took full advantage to ask questions to those around me who know and love their job. Push you comfort zones. Make sure you constantly push your boundaries and keep talking to new people and signing up to work events. Being social helped me make lots of friends and made the experience so much more fun!
